Dear Lover, you are 25+ and you’ve forgotten how to love. The inadequacies of your early youth probably taught you a different love. But now that we are together, allow me do this love. Allow me hear you. Let me near you. They say an Average Nigerian doesn’t know love, maybe it’s because they barely see love- We could be an example of great love, only if you allow, only if you want.

For instance, you don’t have to call me pet names if I am not yours.

You don’t have to be scared to tell me about your childhood turns.

We could talk about your turn ons and offs

We could visit places we both want.

Don’t give me green light if I am not yours.

I mean, I adore the idea of you.

But making me feel like yours when you are not mine, that’s a toxic turn.

I just like to be number 1, next to no one.

You know this thing that they do?

Being tough; not replying messages till half past 2.

I don’t want that one.

You are supposed to want me.

Don’t pick me if it’s forcefully.

And when you are upset, you don’t have to yell the whole earth.

You could step out for some fresh air.

And, Heck yes, I’d love to know the languages your love hears.

What are your love languages?

When you want to get me out of your hair,

Don’t ghost and disappear for years.

Just tell me so I can spend months shedding tears.

We can’t be boring.

Stop using work as excuse.

  • Well, I am not jobless.

And I still call and text.

Do you know we can talk and the earth won’t swallow any of us?

Communication and comprehension, you’d get to know love with lesser complications.

Tell me how to love you;

But do you even know love?

Do you know love does forehead kiss?

Love doesn’t see tickling as a sin.

Love buys a boyfriend more than handkerchief?

Love doesn’t hit or destroy.

Love can hold hands in public scenes.

Love doesn’t lie or cheat.

Love doesn’t pretend or have side chicks

Love chases a partner’s dream

Love plugs my phone when I am asleep

Love doesn’t mind my man surprising me with a meal.

Love doesn’t call my cramp - little thing.

Love show support when my man is draining from the stress of the world.

Love laughs like a fool.

Love doesn’t knack anybody 2 by 2.

Love supports and renews.

Love pray and love lives in you.

Love replies messages and returns calls.

Love grows, it is learnt by practice.

Even love works with time

And it has beautiful surprises

Let me love you.

How you want to be loved

But do you know love??
